As a rule, man is a fool / When it's hot, he wants it cool / When it's cool, he wants it hot /
Always wanting what it's not, / Never wanting what he's got.

About Us

We are Robert, Alicia and Emily!

Robert and Alicia met at a New Year’s Eve dance for young single adults. Alicia was interested right away and flirted for months before she could get Robert’s attention. Either that says something about Alicia’s flirting skills or Robert’s receptors. Most Sunday nights, she would invite him to group game night at her apartment. It was a casual way for us to get to know each other better. In November, Robert FINALLY asked Alicia to be his girl. After one week of dating, the ward leaders invited us to attend the Marriage Prep class. Eek! We definitely weren’t ready for marriage after a week, but we attended the class and had fun learning more about each other. It all worked out for the best and a couple months later Robert proposed. On April Fool’s Day. Seriously. Fortunately, neither of us realized what day it was, so it was still a sincere and romantic event. In August, we were married in the Dallas Texas Temple. We had a variety of board games on the tables at our reception, in honor of our courtship.

We have now been married for about 6 years. We love being together and spend most of our time laughing and having fun. We still enjoy playing games and attend a group game night once a month. We often spend our evenings watching TV shows together. Some of our favorites are Eureka, Warehouse 13, Parks and Recreation, Community, Psych, The Office, and Brooklyn Nine Nine. We both love to read. Mostly science fiction for Robert, whereas Alicia is partial to fantasy. Our house is FULL of books.

We were married for just over a year when our daughter Emily was born. We already had so much love for each other that we were amazed how much our love grew with a child in our life.

We recently relocated from Carrollton, Texas to Aurora, Illinois so Robert could accept a promotion at work. We are having fun exploring a new area. It's especially exciting to be only an hour away from Chicago.

We are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, also known as Mormons. We regularly attend Sunday services and volunteer our time serving others. Our faith and beliefs are very important to us and central to our family life.
