As a rule, man is a fool / When it's hot, he wants it cool / When it's cool, he wants it hot /
Always wanting what it's not, / Never wanting what he's got.

Our Journey to Adoption

Shortly after Emily's birth, Alicia had an undiagnosed pelvic infection. It was about four months before it was discovered and treated. Unfortunately, the infection had damaged her fallopian tubes and caused adhesions throughout her lower abdomen and pelvis. After surgery to remove one of the damaged fallopian tubes, the doctor gave her a less than 10% chance of getting pregnant. The diagnosis was a surprise, but we knew that there were more children who belonged in our family. So, a couple of months later, we met with LDS Family Services to talk about adoption. While we are still open to adoption, we are also currently a licensed foster care family in the state of Illinois. We don't have any placements in our home right now.

We believe that every baby is a miracle from God and we trust that He will bring the right child into our life at the right time.
